# Free (Figurative) Composition Free figurative composition is an important form of creative expression in which the artist uses the human figure or other recognizable forms as the main visual subject without being restricted by a fixed theme, prescribed layout, or conventional rules. In Creative Composition, the purpose is to develop an individual artistic language by combining imagination, observation, emotion, colour, form, line, texture, and space. The artist is free to interpret the figure according to personal experience and creative intention. A semi-realistic style maintains a recognizable relationship with reality while allowing certain changes in proportion, colour, anatomy, or background. The figure may be drawn with reasonably accurate body structure, facial features, gestures, and clothing, but the artist can simplify or exaggerate selected elements.
