Both approaches focus on delivering the right products, in the right quantity, at the right time, while avoiding unnecessary activities and resource utilization. Just-in-Time is an inventory management philosophy in which goods are received and replenished close to the time they are required. In retail, excessive inventory can increase storage costs, create the risk of product damage and deterioration, and result in obsolete or unsold products. JIT attempts to minimize these problems by maintaining only the inventory necessary for immediate operations. Retailers therefore coordinate closely with suppliers and use accurate demand information to ensure timely replenishment. For example, a supermarket may use sales data to identify the daily demand for milk, vegetables, and other fast-moving products. Instead of keeping large quantities in the warehouse, the retailer can arrange frequent deliveries from suppliers. This reduces inventory holding costs and ensures that fresh products reach customers with minimum delay. The major principles of JIT include continuous inventory replenishment, close supplier relationships, accurate demand forecasting, reliable transportation, high-quality products, and reduction of unnecessary stock. Information technology plays an important role by
