The Bullwhip Effect in supply chains refers to a situation where small fluctuations in customer demand at the retail level lead to progressively larger variations in orders and inventory levels as one moves upstream in the supply chain, from retailer to wholesaler, distributor, and manufacturer. In the context of खुदरा व्यापार में आपूर्ति श्रृंखला प्रबंधन, this phenomenon creates significant inefficiencies such as excess inventory, stockouts, increased operational costs, and poor customer service. In a retail business, customer demand is often influenced by seasonal trends, promotions, discounts, and changing consumer preferences. When retailers observe a slight increase in demand for a product, they may overreact by placing larger orders to avoid stockouts. The wholesaler, interpreting this increased order as a sign of rising market demand, may further inflate the order quantity to the manufacturer. As this pattern continues upstream, the original small variation in customer demand gets amplified, resembling the motion of a whip cracking, hence the term “Bullwhip Effect.” Several factors contribute to the Bullwhip Effect in retail supply chains. One major cause is demand signal processing, where each participant in the supply chain bases their forecast on orders received from the immediate downstream
